A cinnamon sugary banana bread in donut form! As these donuts start baking in the oven, the whole kitchen starts smelling like scrumptious banana bread. I couldn’t resist attempting The Semi Sweet Sisters easy recipe. It only took a slight adjustment to make them gluten-free and dairy-free.

Gluten-Free Cinnamon Sugar Banana Donuts
Ingredients
- ½ cup sour cream
- 1 large egg
- ½ tsp vanilla extract
- ¼ cup vegetable oil
- 1 banana peeled, mashed
- ½ cup sugar
- 1 ¼ cups gluten-free flour
- ½ tsp baking soda
- ⅛ tsp cinnamon
- ¼ tsp salt
Coating
- 3 tbsp butter melted, for brushing
- ½ cup sugar
- ½ tsp cinnamon
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease donut pan with oil or cooking spray.
- Whisk together the sour cream, egg, vanilla, oil, & sugar in a bowl. Add in mashed banana & whisk again.
- Add flour, soda, salt, & cinnamon (optional) & stir together until well combined.
- Fill donut pan with batter & bake for 12-16 minutes or until the top is springy to the touch & the sides are turning golden brown. Remove from oven & let cool in pan for 5-10 minutes then transfer to cooling rack.
For Coating
- In a small bowl, combine sugar & cinnamon together. Melt butter in another small bowl & brush onto both sides of donuts. Place donut in bowl of cinnamon/sugar mix & flip over to coat both sides.
Notes
This recipe has been lightly adapted to be gluten and dairy free from The Semi Sweet Sisters.
